Forget about the waves and seasickness caused by maritime vessels! You can now enjoy the crystal clear waters and soft sandy beaches of Barú, by land, in an estimated time of 1 hour and 30 minutes. Until 2014 it was only possible to reach this paradisiacal destination by boat, but since the construction of the bridge that connects Barú with Cartagena, there are options for those who prefer to travel by land.
After the journey in an air-conditioned vehicle, a walk through the town of Baruleños is taken to see the emblematic houses of the island, and taste an egg arepa with seafood, a dish native to the region. Later we will take a boat to take a walk through mangroves, where it is possible to appreciate different types of fish and crustaceans, and then we will arrive at the Beach of the Dead, known for housing the old indigenous cemetery.
Next, we head to Playa Boba or the Rosario Islands to take a refreshing swim in its crystal clear waters.
