The Caribbean is painted in color with the Carnival of Barranquilla

The Barranquilla Carnival takes place every year in Colombia four days before Ash Wednesday. This great event is one of the oldest in the country and one of the most important, since in 2003 it was declared by UNESCO “Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity”.

• Parade and burial of Joselito: On the last day of Carnival, the funeral of Joselito will be held, a doll that the people of Barranquilla usually carry on a stretcher or in a coffin adorned with flowers and ribbons, this in order to end the carnival day and symbolizes the end of all the festivities of that year.
